At the morning of October 7th, my husband got a strange calls. The strange thing was that some of them were from people from his IDF reserve unite that are religious! they wern't supposed to use their phones on shabat! He immediately answer and on the other side we heared his frined saing that there is a waar going on, terrorists all over the south of israel, in Sderot and people being kiddnaped. We jumped from pur bed, apparently it was 10am, we overslept and the kids didn't woke us up. we opened the TV and saw a journalist from gaza reporting from inside Nir-oz and people in the back are looting and burning houses. we were shooked but them realized that my husbend was drafting and need to leave as fust as possible. We organized him really quick and at 10:40 he already left after saing gooodbye. He was in the army for 170 days.
my young sister and two brothers in low also got drafted and went to the south. It as really scary time. waing for some massage or a call to know they are safe for now.
It was a scary few weeks. We live 500 meters from the boarder with Jordan and was scared that terrorist from there will also come for us. we stayed home for few days, but after a week we started to go back to pur lives. schools opened up and everyone tried to get their lifes back together best as possible.
365 days as passed, it feels like everything id the same. we are at home again because of Hizbollah and 101 hostages are still in Gaza. Yesterday they even fired rockets from gaza at the same time (6:29 am) as they did a year ago.
I hope that It all end soon- that people will be back to thier homes and be safe. I we will find the way to feel safe again.
