Story 103

On October 7th I was at home. My dad woke me up telling me the news. My mom was scared things were only going to get worse.  About 2 weeks later she decided that my whole family should fly to Hungary. We flew to Hungary on October 19th.

There weren’t any direct flights to Hungary because of the war so we took a flight to

Cyprus and from there continued to Hungary. We stayed in Hungary for about a month. We spent most nights at our friends’ place while they left for a ski trip , I also slept over at my other friend’s house. I visited my friends which at that time I hadn’t seen for 3 months. Everything was pretty much normal. I woke up, had a lesson in Zoom, then went out with my family and friends. Everyday was basically about the same. I got sick of it pretty easily, and wanted to go back home already, plus my birthday was coming up and I wanted to be able to celebrate it with my friends back at home. Flights got really expensive, and my mom had a job interview she had to go to. We ended splitting up, my mom and little sister flew to Israel and a few days after that my dad, my other sister and I flew back. We flew back on my birthday. I thought I wouldn’t be able to spend my birthday with my friends since we were going to get home late. But what I didn’t know was that they planned a surprise party for me and they all waited at home for me. I was really happy to see them and had a lot of fun. So, the war has effected me somehow.
