On October 7th, our world was shattered. We were forced to huddle in our safe room for hours, unable to leave. The destruction was close to home - my neighbor's house was burned by a rocket. As a religious family, we prayed to God for help and protection during these frightening times. My mother stocked our safe room with water and dry food, preparing for the worst. Sleeping with six people in such a confined space is challenging. School was suspended, adding to our sense of disruption. The massive killing of Jews reminds us of the horrors of the Holocaust, bringing a deep sense of fear and sorrow. Though the situation has improved slightly, with fewer alarms, the Iron Dome protecting us, and school resuming, the impact of the war lingers. Friends have died or been injured in the army, and hostages remain captive in Gaza. It's difficult to focus on studies when faced with such tragedy. Yet, there's a sense of unity in our shared experience. We're all navigating this difficult situation together, finding strength in our community's resilience and faith.
