October 7

So on October 7th, I was at home with lots of family. We were about 15 people in total. The night before I was with my cousin and we were talking a lot and playing and I stayed up till like 3am and then I woke up at like 6:30 to the sound of alarms in the background but I was like half awake so I didn't really notice and then my dad came in and he told us that there was an alarm and we needed to go downstairs to the safe room, so we went downstairs to the safe room and there was all my family there, including a (then) 3 month old baby. We stayed inside for a few minutes and then went out. My family stayed for 2 more days after and they got sick of staying so they left and then my mom didn't want to be alone so we went to my grandparents and then after two weeks of zoom classes and lots of fun at Saba and Savta my dad told us in the middle of nowhere that we're going to America and we were happy and then we flew to New Jersey, where my cousins live, and we were there for a month and in the last two weeks we went to a private school called Shechter Bergen and then we would've stayed for longer but my dad couldn't be away from work any longer so we flew back to Israel and I gave my class presents from America. The whole trip was really exciting because I felt like a secret spy running away from the war and also because I hadn't been in America for 5 years before that.
